Overview
At Jacobs, we are solving critical problems for thriving cities and environments. The Jacobs team in Darwin is growing, and we're looking for a Principal Engineer within our Civil and Aviation section to join us. This is a leadership role reporting directly to the Section Leader, overseeing multiple disciplines, business units, and a varied client base within the Darwin team.
You will provide and lead design consultancy and engineering services across the Northern Territory and Queensland regions, offering technical input and direction while working closely with Design Managers, Project Leads, and Project Managers to deliver outstanding outcomes. You'll collaborate with commercial, project management, engineering, and design leaders to plan, develop, and operate a diverse portfolio of projects, support the growth and development of the team, build design capability, strengthen client relationships, and integrate with Global Integrated Delivery centres to enhance delivery capability and meet targets.
Your responsibilities span managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring compliance with Jacobs' standards and client quality requirements, articulating and delivering Digital Engineering and BIM solutions, and fostering a project culture aligned with our values. You'll oversee design deliverables, manage budgets, support tenders and proposals, and lead effective project teams, coaching and mentoring talent to build capability across the organisation. Safety in design, client responsiveness, and consistent leadership will be central to your work as you model Jacobs' Culture of Caring and help exceed client expectations.
If you're ready to bring your expertise, leadership, and passion for engineering to a team that values inclusivity, innovation, and excellence, we'd love to hear from you.
