About the role
Geelong Diesel Services is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team in North Geelong, VIC. As a full-time Diesel Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing heavy-duty diesel engines and equipment, ensuring our clients' operations run smoothly and efficiently.
What you'll be doing
* Diagnose, service, and repair a wide range of diesel-powered vehicles and machinery
* Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tune-ups, and safety inspections
* Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
* Liaise with clients to understand their needs and provide accurate estimates
* Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used
* Ensure a safe and clean working workplace
* Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
What we're looking for
* Formal qualifications in Automotive Diesel Mechanics or equivalent
* Minimum 5 years of experience as a Qualified Diesel Mechanic, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting
* Excellent diagnostic and problem‐solving skills
* Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‐on technical skills
* Familiarity with modern diesel engine technologies and diagnostic tools
* Effective communication skills to liaise with clients and team members
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
* Must be an Australian permanent resident
