About us:
District Pharmacy Services is a small team of friendly pharmacists who manage medication safety, quality use of medicines and pharmacy education for Hunter New England LHD.
About the role:
This is a newly formed, district-wide position which will work closely with a number of different departments including Pharmacy, IT and Clinical Governance. The role will focus initially on governance arrangements for smart infusion devices, developing and implementing a district-wide smart pump library and working with the Biomedical Technology team to roll out smart infusion devices to clinical areas within HNELHD. This position will work alongside nursing, allied health and medical staff.
Orientation and ongoing support are provided by the pharmacists within the team, and across the district, based on their strengths and availability. You will have ready access to the Pharmacy Educator who works within the same team, and will complete corporate orientation both in person and via online training.
About you:
A registered pharmacist with AHPRA.
An experienced pharmacist with a background in hospital clinical pharmacy. Bonus points if you have experience with smart pumps or implementing new technology into the hospital environment.
A strong communicator with great stakeholder engagement skills.
An independent worker and fast learner, who can also collaborate with teammates and stakeholders.

Additional information:
An eligibility list will be created for future temporary full or part time vacancies.
This position is full time; however, job share arrangements will be considered.
To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.

How to apply:
Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement activities or service redesign processes.
Clinical experience relevant to the development of safe practices for the intravenous administration of medications and fluids.
Demonstrated computer literacy and ability to use health information systems. One responsibility of this role is to co-ordinate changes to the medication library dataset and pump configurations in collaboration with clinicians.
