About the Opportunity
We are looking for a Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) – Rural Operations, Capability and Disaster Preparedness to provide advanced clinical leadership, expert advice, and specialist education to rural sites, including Multipurpose and District facilities. This is your opportunity to lead initiatives that build staff capability, enhance disaster preparedness, and ensure high-quality, patient-centred, evidence-based care.
As the CNC – Rural Operations, Capability and Disaster Preparedness, you will:
* Provide expert clinical advice and leadership during disaster events and routine operations
* Plan, implement, evaluate, and sustain rural initiatives, including Virtual Nurse Assist programs, Nursing Policy and Procedure development, Business Continuity Plans, Health Liaison Officer and Emergency Management training
* Practical lead
* Participate in clinical service planning, operational strategy, and specialist service delivery
* Contribute to research, applying scientific findings to clinical practice and disseminating results
* Develop and deliver specialist education programs

About You
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
* At least 5 years fulltime equivalent post registration clinical experience with 3 years full time equivalent post graduate experience in the specialty field
* Awareness of emergency management concepts and principles
* Have approved post graduate nursing / midwifery qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation relevant to the role
* Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
* National Police Check
* NSW Working with Children Check
* Vaccination Category A
* Evidence of a current Class C driver's license and ability and willingness to travel for work purposes. This may involve driving long distances with the MLHD.
