PRIMARY DETAIL

* Salary package: $101,438 to $117,108 (Level A.4 – A.8) plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading.
* Full-time, fixed-term role for 12 months
* Based at Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde

The Role

We are seeking a Project Coordinator to join the Public Health and Policy Pillar of the Macquarie University Hearing Research Centre.

Some of your key responsibilities include:

* Provide a consistent level of contribution to the research activities of the Public Health and Policy Pillar. Primarily, managing a 3-year ARC Linkage Grant aiming to develop a novel digital literacy program that caters to the needs of seniors with sensory loss.
* Develop and refine research skills and independent research activities under the supervision of more senior academic staff.
* Undertake administration primarily related to their activities at the University including preparing ethics applications
* Development and conduct of surveys and other quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis processes as relevant to the role
* Extensive stakeholder engagement (government and non-government organisations and consumer groups)
* Oversee training of staff and volunteers as relevant to the role
* Preparation of results, visualisation and reporting of research to various audiences and dissemination via peer-reviewed journal articles
* Development and participation in annual dissemination events
* Assist with the supervision of MRes/PhD student(s)

About You

As a project coordinator, you will be a core member of the Public Health and Policy Pillar team. You will bring your excellent project management, research, communication, and interpersonal skills to work closely with our relevant stakeholders, including community groups, clinicians, consumers and industry, to ensure key project aims are met. You will model behaviours that align with the Macquarie University vision and values and foster these in your team, with research students and the broader community to create an inclusive and high-performance culture.

You are an empathetic and collaborative professional with experience working across a broad range of stakeholders. With strong oral communication skills, you can clearly articulate requirements and build effective relationships with partner organisations.

About Us

The Macquarie University Hearing Research Centre, located within the Australian Hearing Hub, is a global hub of hearing and hearing-related research, education, and engagement, and through the Macquarie University Hearing Strategy 2030 is seeking to transform hearing health. Adopting a university-wide approach and working with partners to create opportunities for all community members to contribute towards advancing the hearing agenda and to reduce the global burden of hearing loss.

The Public Health and Policy Pillar of the Macquarie University Hearing Research Centre has the broad primary goal of reducing the social, human and economic impact of hearing loss and vision loss. The research within this Pillar includes analyses of data from population health datasets, epidemiological studies, and intervention studies.

Core criteria:

* PhD in health services research, epidemiology, public health or a related area Demonstrated expertise in the management of research projects and/or clinical trials, including ethics and governance applications, participant recruitment, survey development, logistics and management of datasets and reporting.
* A record of contributing to building and maintaining effective and productive links locally and nationally with the discipline, profession, industry and wider community.
* Ability to critically consider inequity in the context of health and social care Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.
* Proven ability to build and maintain effective collaborations within a multidisciplinary team with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

Desirable criteria:

* Experience working in a clinical setting as an audiologist, optometrist or a related allied healthcare practitioner.
* Expertise in the statistical analysis of longitudinal data or similar complex datasets, and exposure to translating evidence into practice.
