Location: 30 Ashley Street, West Footscray VIC **** Position: Carpenter – Full-Time Salary: $76,000 – $80,000 + Superannuation
About the Role The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out all aspects of carpentry work across residential construction projects, from framing and formwork to detailed finishing. The role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and adherence to building standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities 1. Construct, assemble, install, and repair wooden frameworks and structures such as walls, floors, roofs, doors, and windows. 2. Read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications to determine job requirements.
3. Measure, cut, shape, and join timber and other materials with precision. 4. Install fixtures, fittings, and internal/external joinery in accordance with design plans. 5. Inspect and repair existing structures or fixtures, ensuring high standards of workmanship.
6. Operate carpentry tools, power equipment, and machinery safely and efficiently. 7. Work collaboratively with builders, site supervisors, and other trades to meet project timelines. 8. Ensure compliance with site safety standards, building codes, and WHS policies.
9. Maintain accurate records of materials used and work completed. Skills & Experience 1. Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent qualification.
2. Minimum 1–2 years' practical experience in residential or commercial carpentry. 3. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and joinery. 4. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
5. Good communication and teamwork skills. 6. Commitment to safety, reliability, and high-quality workmanship. 7. Valid White Card and driver's licence.
