Production Manager – Beef Processing

Key focus areas
* End-to-end production leadership (procurement, scheduling, throughput, yield and labour efficiency)
* Product specifications, grading standards, food safety and audit readiness (HACCP/QA)
* Run-level P&L ownership, cost control, and performance reporting
* Logistics and supply chain coordination to deliver OTIF and maintain cold chain integrity
What you'll be responsible for
* Livestock procurement and scheduling
* Lead daily production planning and execution to meet customer orders and livestock availability.
* Ensure products meet specifications, grading standards, and regulatory/customer requirements.
* Maintain food safety systems and audit readiness in partnership with QA.
* Drive continuous improvement to improve yield, efficiency, and product consistency.
* Own run-level financial results (raw materials, labour, packaging, overhead), identify variances and implement corrective actions.
* Deliver accurate operational and financial reporting, including KPIs, dashboards, and traceability documentation.
* Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics to protect cold chain integrity and support on-time delivery performance.
What you'll bring
* Experience in production management within beef processing or meat manufacturing.
* Solid knowledge of beef grading, product specifications, and yield optimisation.
* Strong financial and commercial capability, including budget and cost performance management.
* Strong reporting and data analysis skills (production systems and Excel).
* Working knowledge of HACCP and food safety legislation; commitment to high standards.
* Proven leadership capability with the ability to drive performance and accountability.
* Strong stakeholder engagement across operations, logistics and commercial teams.
* Based in Darwin (or within reasonable proximity) with ability to attend on-site production in Batchelor, NT.
Desirable
* Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Agriculture, Business (or related)
* Experience across processing/sales/logistics in the meat industry
* Established relationships within the beef supply chain.
