About the role
Based on a community development approach, this position is responsible for overseeing complex and strategic development, implementation and delivery of a range of sustainable regional initiatives including partnership development, community programs, emergency services capacity building and training opportunities.
The Manager – Community Programs will manage, supervise, train and develop Australian Red Cross staff and volunteers and facilitate sustainable outcomes in accordance with community aspirations and in line with strategic partnerships.
This role requires regular travel to the Tiwi Islands, including overnight stays.
Day to day, you will
- Responsible for the delivery of all programs within the region including KPI’s, performance reviews and reporting requirements.
- Ensure appropriate delivery of program performance in respect to funding and service agreements, with an emphasis on excellent client engagement, client feedback and compliance with service standards.
- Provide high level advice, direction and support to regional staff. Adopt a leadership style based upon coaching, supporting and empowering staff and volunteers following our Ways of Working.
- Consult and establish relationships with Aboriginal communities and organisations.
- Recruit and manage staff in the regions in conjunction with the People & Culture team and in accordance with organisational policies
What you will bring
- Substantial experience in working with individuals and/or families in a community services’ organisation setting.
- Experience working with First Nations people in regional or remote settings, preferably in the NT.
- Substantial experience and understanding of Microsoft Office tools, such as outlook, word and excel as well as Data Analytics tools.
- It would be preferable to have experience in Family Support Services.
- A current driver’s licence and an Ochre Card (or the ability to obtain one) are mandatory for this role.
