About the role
Our client based in Osborne Park seeks a Commercial Roofing Estimator to join them on a permanent basis.
The Commercial Roofing Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates and tender submissions for commercial roofing projects. This role works closely with clients, suppliers, project managers, and operational teams to ensure all pricing, materials, labour, and project requirements are correctly assessed and documented.
Projects may include
* Commercial roofing installations
* Re-roofing and refurbishment works
* Maintenance and repair tenders
* Industrial roofing projects
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial roofing projects.
* Review drawings, specifications, scopes of works, and tender documentation.
* Conduct quantity take-offs and material calculations.
* Source and obtain supplier and subcontractor pricing.
* Prepare tender submissions within required deadlines.
* Identify project risks, exclusions, and value engineering opportunities.
* Ensure estimates align with company profit margins and commercial objectives.
Client & Stakeholder Management
* Liaise with builders, clients, consultants, and suppliers during tender phases.
* Attend site inspections and pre-tender meetings where required.
* Clarify project scopes and technical requirements with clients.
* Maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders.
Project Handover & Support
* Provide clear project handovers to operations and project delivery teams.
* Assist project managers with budget reviews and cost tracking.
* Support variations and additional pricing requests during project delivery.
Technical & Compliance
* Maintain knowledge of roofing systems, materials, and installation methods.
* Ensure pricing complies with Australian Standards, WHS requirements, and project specifications.
* Review contracts and identify commercial risks where applicable.
* Currently using inhouse EXCEL for quoting; however, the business is moving to Procore in the very near future.
Administration & Reporting
* Maintain accurate estimating records and databases.
* Update pricing schedules and supplier lists.
* Assist with forecasting and pipeline reporting.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating systems and processes.
About you
* Previous experience in commercial roofing estimating.
* Strong understanding of commercial roofing systems and construction processes.
* Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
* Experience preparing tenders for commercial or industrial projects.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Desirable
* 5+ years in commercial roofing industry with commercial estimating experience
* Knowledge of WA construction market and commercial builders
* Experience using estimating software
* Trade background in roofing or construction
* Understanding of contracts and commercial construction practices
Qualifications
* Trade qualification in Roofing, Construction, or related field (preferred)
* Estimating or construction-related qualifications advantageous
* Current Driver\'s Licence
