As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide person-centred active support to individuals with disability on the Central Coast.
Supported Independent Living (SIL) involves assisting clients in shared housing or their own home, providing personal care and daily living assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Behavioural Support: Follow behaviour management plans to ensure the wellbeing of our clients.
* Personal Care Tasks: Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and medication prompting to promote independence.
* Client Engagement: Encourage clients to participate in activities such as walks, swimming, bowling, and dancing.
* Choice and Independence: Promote client choice and independence in all interactions.
* Community Access: Support clients with community access, including lunch outings and social activities.
* Routine and Adaptability: Maintain a structured routine while being flexible and adaptable to meet clients' needs and preferences.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* An unrestricted New South Wales driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
* Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop.
* A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011.
