Registered Midwife Location: Hobart, Tasmania Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time or Part-Time
About the Role
Talent Quarter is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Midwife to join a leading private hospital in Hobart. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced midwife who is ready to step into a more senior role and contribute to a supportive, team-focused maternity service.
In this position, you’ll provide exceptional, evidence-based care to women and their families, support and mentor junior staff, and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding outcomes for mothers and babies.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, effective and compassionate midwifery care throughout the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the healthcare team.
- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to Level 1 Registered Midwives, students and support staff.
- Maintain accurate clinical and administrative documentation.
- Actively participate in quality improvement and professional development initiatives.
About You
You are a confident and adaptable midwife who values teamwork, patient-centred care, and professional excellence. You’ll bring strong communication skills, sound clinical judgment, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Essential Criteria
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife (and/or Registered Nurse Midwife).
- Demonstrated clinical competence and leadership ability within midwifery practice.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development (CPD compliance).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong decision-making and delegation abilities.
- COVID-19 vaccination (or approved exemption).

- Attractive pay rates: $52.87 – $56.50 per hour (based on experience).

- $1,000/month (0.8–1.0 FTE)
- $750/month (0.5–0.7 FTE)
- $450/month (0.1–0.4 FTE)
