Our focus is on building trusted relationships and delivering outcomes that enable long‐term business value.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Analytics Engineer to join a high‐performing data team in Canberra, working on the Palantir Foundry platform. This is a senior, hands‐on engineering role where you will own data products end‐to‐end, from ingestion and transformation through to ontology modelling and downstream application consumption.
You will act as a technical leader within the team-guiding junior engineers, reviewing code, and setting standards for how data is modelled, engineered, and delivered. While this role has no direct reports, it requires strong influence through engineering excellence, mentoring, and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, build, and maintain end‐to‐end data pipelines within Palantir Foundry, from raw ingestion through to curated data products.
* Model complex business domains using Foundry Ontology (objects, links, and actions).
* Develop and deploy data products for downstream consumption in applications such as Workshop and Quiver.
* Act as the technical reference point for the team, unblocking engineers and providing guidance on best practices.
* Review solution designs and code from junior engineers, uplifting overall team quality and standards.
* Partner with analysts and business users to build data‐driven applications and insights.
* Define and manage SLAs, monitoring, and incident response processes for critical pipelines.
* Implement and maintain data quality checks, health monitoring, and alerting frameworks.
* Contribute to engineering standards, reusable patterns, and technical documentation.
* Drive continuous improvement in data modelling, pipeline design, and delivery practices.
What You'll Need
* At least 5-7 years' experience in analytics engineering or data engineering roles.
* At least 2+ years' experience building production pipelines in Palantir Foundry.
* Strong expertise in SQL, including complex analytical transformations.
* Experience with dimensional modelling (Kimball) or Data Vault methodologies.
* Proven experience mentoring or technically guiding junior engineers.
* Experience operating business‐critical data pipelines, including SLAs, monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work across technical and business stakeholders
* Exposure to ontology modelling, Foundry applications (Workshop/Quiver), or similar platforms is beneficial
* Experience with PySpark, streaming (e.g. Kafka), or distributed processing is advantageous
* Familiarity with testing approaches (e.g. assertions, data quality checks, lineage) is a plus
* Experience integrating API‐based data sources or working with external data streams is desirable
Why Join Us?
* Work on cutting‐edge Palantir Foundry implementations within a high‐impact environment.
* Take ownership of end‐to‐end data products with real business impact.
