Supervisor Rail Grinding
We are currently seeking an experienced Supervisor for the Rail Grinding role within the Rail Network Maintenance team, reporting to the Asset Integrity Superintendent. The position works on an 8 days / 6 days off, 7 nights / 7 days off roster in Port Hedland.
Responsibilities
* Commit to health, safety and environment within the rail network.
* Support the health, wellbeing and sustainable development of team members.
* Set a leading example of step‐up behaviour by developing staff, managing risk, problem solving and achieving results.
* Act as a BHP Responsible Person, ensuring compliance with the Rail Safety Act, Occupational Safety and Health Act and BHP Procedure 0149234.
* Drive an inclusive and diverse culture.
* Lead and coach teams in the BOS Principles and Practices.
* Lead teams in identifying and implementing improvement opportunities.
* Build and maintain relationships across departments to achieve positive outcomes.
* Execute the maintenance plan for the week and aim to complete work to the day.
* Review weekly schedules to ensure compliance with work‐management expectations.
* Support the strategic direction of Asset Integrity.
* Strong commitment to the field leadership program and coaching field leadership activities.
About You
* Strong safety leadership skills and a history of field leadership participation.
* Process‐driven.
* Previous experience supervising a service contractor team.
* Grinding experience, ultrasonic experience or engineering experience.
* Experience with the BHP Operating System.
* Experience in SAP work management.
* Ability to work autonomously to meet deadlines.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Leadership experience in leading and developing teams.
* High level of discretion and complete respect for confidentiality.
Location
You will be based at Port Hedland on a fly‐in fly‐out 8D6X7N7X roster from Perth. Port Hedland is the largest regional centre in North West Australia. The FIFO villages offer a fully equipped gym, TV lounge, games rooms and access to aquatic and sporting facilities. Each room includes an en‐suite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air‐conditioning.
