We're currently recruiting a locum VMO Gastroenterologist at Wollongong hospital.
The Department of Gastroenterology at Wollongong hospital is a dynamic, expanding department set in a coastal metropolitan location. We offer a collegial, supportive work environment with a large and varied clinical caseload suitable for a dynamic Gastroenterologist.
The Gastroenterologist will provide clinical management and treatment of patients within the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District under their care. The care will be provided within the scope of practice granted by the Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee to provide consultation and procedural services in Gastroenterology. The Gastroenterology Department provides regular work in a department of Staff Specialists with a high level of collegiality.
The Department works closely with several other sub-specialties including upper GIT surgery and colorectal surgery, with regular departmental clinical meetings where clinical cases are presented for review of radiology and histology, as well as being part of regular UGIT Oncology MDT. Advanced Trainees expecting to receive Fellowship of the RACP within 6 months may be considered for this role.
