Position Information
Wellington High School is located on Wiradjuri Country in Central Western New South Wales. Wellington High School services a rural community providing a comprehensive curriculum for Year 7 to 12 students, equipping them with the skills required to become active and successful citizens.
Wellington High School has an anticipated enrolment of 321 for 2026. The composition of the student population is culturally and linguistically diverse, with 66% identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, and 3% speaking English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D).
The school is committed to working with families and the local community to provide a holistic approach to education. It is a Restorative Practice School, adopting a whole school teaching and learning framework that encourages behaviour that is respectful and supportive, priding ourselves on working with all stakeholders. Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach English Year 7-12.
- Demonstrated collaborative, interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
- Demonstrated ability to implement evidence-based teaching practices to engage and develop students with a wide range of abilities with a focus on improving student literacy skills.
- Capacity to implement effective classroom management strategies and to plan and implement differentiated teaching and learning programs to maximise student growth and promote high expectations for all students.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Total Remuneration Package: Remuneration package valued at up to $156,253.00. Base salary ranges from $90,177.00 to $137,861.00, plus leave loading and employer's contribution to superannuation. Base salary rates above the minimum are available depending on experience.
