Position Overview
TELUS Digital is seeking a high‑caliber Vice President of Business Development (AU, NZ, SE Asia) to spearhead our "Sales‑Led" offensive across the Asia‑Pacific region. Reporting directly to the Executive in charge of Asia, you will be responsible for monetizing our expanded delivery footprint and executing an evolved "Go‑to‑Market" strategy.
As a seasoned practitioner and visionary leader, you will leverage your established network across Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia to position TELUS Digital as the premier AI‑fueled customer experience transformation partner. This is a hunter role designed for a strategic expert who can translate complex AI and digital solutions into high‑value partnerships for enterprise clients.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Market Expansion: Execute the "3‑Hub" commercial strategy, overseeing specialized Hunter Pods in the ANZ Enterprise Pod (Sydney/Melbourne), SEA Tech Pod (Singapore), and China Global Pod (Shenzhen/HK).
Solutions‑Focused Hunting: Move beyond generalist sales by utilizing deep practitioner expertise to profile our full suite of capabilities—including AI Transformation, Trust & Safety, and Digital Solutions—to prospective clients.
Regional Growth Pillars: Drive the "Resilient Right‑Shoring" pitch to capture the ANZ CX Offshoring market. Aid development of and:
* Promote Vietnam’s expanded Technology & Digital Services (DX) practice.
* Capitalize on Indonesia’s tri‑lingual CX services to meet diverse client needs.
* Drive education around Salesforce, Zendesk & Amazon Connect practice/s.
Executive Relationship Management: Leverage your deep‑seeded network in sectors such as BFSI, TMT, Health, Travel & Hospitality, and Tech & Gaming to open doors and secure long‑term contracts.
Collaboration: Work closely with the leadership of a global team of 83k+ members to ensure that "battle‑tested" solutions incubated within TELUS are effectively adapted for the Asian market.
Business Development Responsibilities
* Lead Growth Initiatives: Drive business development activities within the targeted verticals by developing, scoping, and closing complex opportunities for TELUS Digital’s CX solutions.
* End‑to‑End Sales Ownership: Manage the full cycle from initial discovery to solution development, proposal, and successful negotiation and contracting.
* Strategic Client Access: Identify and creatively access key client organizations (including major gaming studios and tech platforms) through networking, referrals, industry events, marketing, and ecosystem engagement.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Build and nurture a network of senior executives, decision‑makers, and influential stakeholders in target organizations.
* Insight‑Based Selling: Analyze challenges within prospective clients' operations—such as player support, community engagement, trust & safety, and digital transformation—to initiate deeper solution‑focused discussions.
* Industry Leadership: Enhance TELUS Digital’s profile within start‑up, scale‑up, and mature tech and gaming innovators by engaging in communities at the forefront of the industry.
* Comprehensive BPO Solutions: Sell multi‑year contracts in customer experience (CX), technical support, community moderation (e.g., forums & social), trust and safety, AI‑driven automation, risk management, and augmented back‑office services.
* Pipeline Management & Revenue Tracking: Create and maintain a clear pipeline of opportunities in Salesforce, report progress and deal milestones, and strategically cover quarterly targets to drive sustainable revenue build‑up.
* Intelligence Gathering: Capture and share actionable market intelligence—spanning automation trends, buying processes, stakeholder needs, and consumer/player behavior—to inform competitor positioning.
Skills & Abilities
* Practitioner Expertise: Proven track record in designing and building digital customer experience solutions, preferably within a global outsourcing or consulting environment.
* Regional Authority: An extensive, active professional network across Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia (particularly Singapore and Indonesia).
* Solution Selling: Demonstrated ability to sell complex AI‑fueled technology, including data annotation, generative AI training, and enterprise‑grade AI engines like Fuel iX.
* Strategic Vision: Experience developing and executing "Go‑to‑Market" strategies that shift organizations from defensive positions to "Sales‑Led" offensives.
* Executive Presence: Ability to report to and influence regional executive leadership while mentoring high‑performing sales pods.
Qualifications
* 7+ years experience in Industry as an industry practitioner, Business Development, Sales, or Director‑level roles in cross‑industry BPO, or Digital Consulting.
* Demonstrated track record of driving $5 Million+ annual revenue growth, with notable success in client acquisition and solution selling.
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, or related fields required.
* Experience operating with multinational clients or digital native brands in a global context.
