Education Support Officer – School Based Education Support (SBES)
Location: Negotiable across TAFE NSW campuses, subject to campus availability. The role is campus‐based and requires attendance on site.
Employment type: Permanent full time. Salary package: AUD 96,098 (base $84,666) plus superannuation and annual leave loading.
About the role
You will support TAFE students studying school‐based education support qualifications online. The position is non‐teaching; it does not involve lesson preparation, training delivery, or assessment.
Responsibilities
* Provide student support for TAFE students in school‐based education support qualifications.
* Assist learning delivery both face‐to‐face and through virtual learning environments.
* Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and school staff.
* Collaborate with senior teaching and support staff to promote positive student outcomes.
About you
You bring strong industry insight and enjoy helping students build confidence, develop practical skills, and engage meaningfully with their learning journey.
You are experienced in an adult learning environment, have a proactive approach, and are a clear communicator.
Qualifications
* Certificate III in School Based Education Support or equivalent, and at least three years' experience in a classroom setting.
* Ability to understand the content of learning materials and processes used in School Based Education Support.
* High‐level interpersonal and communication skills, with initiative and clarity.
* Commitment to support learning in an adult environment and ability to motivate students.
* Ability to establish effective relationships with people from diverse backgrounds and provide quality customer service.
* Skills in using information and communication technologies, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Teams.
