Description
The Advanced Trainee is responsible for the day‐to‐day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital and provides after‐hours emergency cover at the hospital as required.
The Aged Care Department is accredited for 4 Advanced Trainee positions, each of 12‐24 months duration. The position is suitable as core training for Advanced Trainees in Geriatrics or non‐core training for Advanced Trainees in General Medicine, Rehabilitation Medicine, Palliative Care or Emergency Medicine.
$138,978 - $194,675 per annum.
Salary range is in accordance with the Medical Practitioners Agreement 2025.
Period of Employment
Fixed term, full time day work, working 76 hours per fortnight (+10 hours protected training time per fortnight, pro rata), commencing from 1 February 2027 until 7 February 2028 (24 months negotiable).
Note: Part time hours may be considered.
* General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia
* Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements)
* Highly Desirable: Having passed the written and practical RACP exams or equivalent for relevant College
