The role of Principal Business Analyst is to provide high level advice about youth detention service delivery, including analysing quantitative and qualitative operational data, assisting with statutory and corporate reporting requirements preparing reports and performance information relevant to services delivered within the youth detention context, with a focus on high quality data and analysis and reporting.
As Principal Business Analyst, You Will Specifically
* Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
* Provide subject matter expertise and assist in the analysis of reporting solutions, including reporting and analysing data and information.
* Translate data analyses and reports into actionable insights to support strategic and tactical decision‑making.
* Lead the design and implementation of regular reports to support operational, performance monitoring in youth detention centers and meet agency reporting requirements.
* Lead and coordinate complex analyses, including integration of data from various sources, for:
* Scenario modelling to test the feasibility and potential impact of proposed system and legislative changes.
* Measuring the impact of legislative change and policy, programs, and practice initiatives.
* Contribute to the development of organisational information systems or applications and other data collection, analysis, and reporting tools.
* Develop, apply, and maintain effective governance arrangements, risk management, and linkages between stakeholders to achieve data analysis and reporting outcomes and objectives.
* Provide expert, audience‑appropriate oral and written advice on issues affecting the Department of Youth Justice and Victim Support and the Queensland youth justice system for internal, state, and national stakeholders.
* Prepare a range of written materials including briefing notes, memorandums for approval, project plans, correspondence, discussion papers and reports to a high standard.
* Represent the department on cross‑government committees and working parties to inform decision‑making in the development of strategic policy directions, interdepartmental information management and sharing, and national performance reporting strategies.
