ABOUT OUR CLIENT & THE ROLE
Our client is one of Australia's leading agricultural businesses with large scale operations spanning farming, manufacturing, supply chain and distribution nationally. This role sits within a fast‐paced operational finance environment supporting a major division of the business, partnering closely with site leadership and operations teams across multiple production facilities. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Cost & Management Accountant will focus heavily on business partnering across manufacturing and supply chain operations, labour and COGS analysis, operational reporting and inventory. The position has evolved significantly over recent years, with a large amount of transactional processing and reconciliations now centralised offshore, creating more opportunity for commercially focused analysis, operational engagement and value‐add support across the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Partner closely with operational leaders to understand variances, margins and production performance
* Analyse labour, COGS and operational cost performance across multiple manufacturing sites
* Support weekly forecasting, annual budgeting and divisional reporting processes
* Maintain product costing, BOMs and SAP inventory configurations
* Support inventory management processes, stocktakes and inventory audits across sites
* Prepare month‐end journals, freight accruals and financial reporting support
* Deliver KPI reporting and trend analysis around labour and operational performance
* Assist with ROI analysis and financial modelling for operational projects and initiatives
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies
* Support broader finance deadlines and ad hoc commercial analysis requirements
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* CA or CPA qualified, or working toward completion
* Experience within manufacturing, supply chain, agriculture or operationally focused environments
* Strong management accounting, costing or operational finance capability
* Advanced Excel skills and confidence handling large data sets
* SAP exposure preferred
* Strong commercial mindset with an ability to engage operational stakeholders on site
* Positive attitude and willingness to learn and build relationships across the business
* Comfortable operating within a hands‐on, fast‐paced environment
* Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify financial information operationally
