Overview: We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Draftsperson to support our residential design team. This role involves creating, updating, and modifying floorplans using professional CAD software, with a strong focus on accuracy, planning compliance, and fast turnaround times. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of QLD planning rules and residential design guidelines and be confident navigating developer and council requirements. You’ll work closely with our team to ensure designs are aligned with both client needs and planning regulations. Compensation: 540AUD/month (paid bimonthly) Schedule: 24hrs/week within Brisbane Business Hours Location: Remote Key Responsibilities: Produce accurate floor plans and site layouts using CAD software. Update and maintain our internal database of base models. Create custom designs for irregular and sloping blocks. Amend existing designs based on client and team feedback. Interpret and apply council planning requirements, developer guidelines, disclosure plans, and plans for development. Proactively research land estates online to access design requirements and builder portals. Upload plans and data to Canibuild (experience preferred but not essential — training provided). Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of high-quality plans. Qualifications : Proficient in industry-standard CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, Revit, etc.). Strong knowledge of Queensland planning regulations and residential development guidelines is a major plus. Ability to read and interpret planning documents, floor plans, design guidelines, and disclosure plans. High attention to detail and excellent time management skills. Proactive problem-solving and strong research ability. Familiarity with Canibuild (advantageous but not required). Genuine interest in residential housing design and planning.
