Attractive renumeration for successful candidate. Monaro Fuel Haulage is seeking an experienced and motivated Heavy Vehicle Diesel Technician to join our growing Adelaide operations. This is a rare opportunity to join the business at an exciting stage of growth and play a key role in establishing and shaping our new Adelaide workshop. We are looking for a skilled tradesperson who enjoys working autonomously, takes pride in delivering quality workmanship, and wants to contribute to the ongoing reliability and performance of a modern fleet of predominantly Kenworth trucks and Tanker trailers. Working closely with management, you will have genuine input into workshop processes, maintenance planning, equipment requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives. Your experience and ideas will be valued as we build a safe, efficient, and high-performing maintenance operation. Offering a remuneration package of $120,000 per annum + super, a company vehicle and additional allowances, this role presents an outstanding opportunity for someone looking to make a lasting impact within a growing and supportive business.
The Role
* Carry out scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, and corrective repairs across the Kenworth fleet and associated equipment to maximise reliability, safety, and operational uptime.
* Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults using advanced diagnostic tools and modern testing equipment.
* Identify emerging maintenance issues through proactive inspections and condition monitoring, recommending cost-effective repairs before failures occur.
* Ensure all maintenance and repair activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality, compliance, and workmanship.
* Uphold a clean, organised, and professional workshop environment, promoting safety, productivity, and operational excellence.
* Collaborate with operations personnel and fleet management teams to coordinate maintenance schedules and optimise equipment availability.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance maintenance practices, equipment performance, and workshop efficiency.
Roster
* Monday to Friday roster, with standard working hours of 7:00am to 4:00pm.
* Flexible working arrangements are available, with start and finish times able to be adjusted to accommodate operational requirements and individual circumstances.
* Occasional weekend work may be required to meet operational and depot requirements. All hours worked are remunerated at the applicable hourly rate of pay, with any relevant penalties, allowances, or additional entitlements applied.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Trade qualification in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Diesel Fitting, or Heavy Road Transport Automotive Technology
* Proven experience maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles
* Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
* The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively
* A strong commitment to workplace safety and workshop standards
* Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance
* Professional communication skills and a positive team attitude
* Experience with maintaining Kenworth trucks, fuel tankers and trailer equipment would be highly regarded
