Wulguru Technical Services has an exciting opportunity available in our Environmental Approvals and Compliance Team in our Townsville office. The role of environmental Advisor is a full time position (38 hours/week) working with and supporting team members and clients across multiple locations.
Wulguru Technical Services Pty Ltd (WTS) is a leading environmental and spatial science consulting firm providing professional and technical services, largely to the mining sector in Queensland.
The Environmental Advisor role will provide support and leadership by way of organisational, logistical, and administrative assistance to the Environmental Approvals and Compliance team as well as the professional & efficient delivery of services to internal and external clients.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Undertake audits and inspections related to environmental approvals and construction environmental management
* Assist external stakeholders with environmental incident investigations
* Provide support in all aspects of environmental management and compliance to external stakeholders
* Preparation of environmental approvals documentation such as Environmental Authority Amendments, Estimated Rehabilitation Cost applications, Progressive Rehabilitation Closure Plans, impact assessments and referrals under the EPBC Act
* Assist in negotiations and liaison with environmental regulatory agencies on environmental issues, approvals, permit management and reporting requirements
* Prepare detailed technical reports and documents for external stakeholders
In addition to the duties outlined above, you may also be required to perform other duties at the direction of your supervisor or management provided these are within your competency or training.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
* Professional qualification in Environmental Science or Engineering or other relevant degree
* 1-5 years' experience at a professional level (for Intermediate to Senior role)
* Queensland approvals understanding
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse and interpret situations and problems, and develop appropriate solutions
* Demonstrated experience working in multidisciplinary project team
* Rehabilitation and closure experience would be advantageous
* Australian driver license (manual license advantage)
* Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia
