At NELLEN (North East Local Learning and Employment Network) we work with schools, employers, education and training providers and community partners to connect young people to the world of work and foster a thriving regional workforce.
Through our collaborative Grow Our Own Regional Workforce approach, we're helping young people in secondary school to explore diverse career pathways, work placement opportunities and structured workplace learning while helping our regional industries to secure the talent they need now and for the future.
We're looking for a collaborative creative connector, experienced event organiser and gun digital communicator who can turn ideas into experiences that inspire.
As our Industry Connections and Pathways Coordinator, you'll design and coordinate immersive industry activities, promote and manage engaging events, and bring to life the stories of local industries, careers and pathways through digital and social media.
You'll work across schools, employers, training providers, and parents to strengthen pathways from school → work → rewarding and fulfilling futures.
What you'll do
* Build relationships with schools, employers, and community partners to co-create exciting career experiences.
* Design and coordinate workplace immersions, site visits, guest speakers, and expos that help students explore real jobs in growing industries.
* Manage NELLEN's social-media channels and digital content — showcasing success stories and promoting opportunities across the region.
* Collaborate with colleagues in a cross-functional team that values innovation, accountability, and inclusion.
* Use data and feedback to improve programs and demonstrate impact to partners and funders.
What you'll bring
* Experience coordinating programs, events, or communications that involve multiple partners and ability to work to deadlines.
* A minimum of 1-2 years experience in coordinating programs, events, or communications.
* Strong digital and social-media skills — you know how to craft content that engages.
* Demonstrated experience in regular content creation for digital and social media platforms.
* Confident communicator and relationship-builder who can work comfortably with students, schools, employers, and community organisations.
* Understanding of vocational learning, local industries, and what motivates young people- desirable.
* A tertiary qualification (or equivalent experience) in education, communications, community development, business, or workforce development - desirable.
* Australian citizenship or permanent residency required.
