The Opportunity We’re looking for a driven and hands‑on Production Manager to oversee manufacturing operations within our Energy Storage Systems (ESS) department. In this role, you’ll ensure our innovative products are built safely, meet the highest quality standards, and are delivered on time – all while driving continuous improvement across the team.
Lead and inspire the ESS production team to achieve operational and business goals.
Champion process optimisation to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality.
Contribute to production strategy, tackling challenges, and helping shape the future direction of the manufacturing cell.
Specific Duties of the Role Coordinate production operations to meet deadlines for both internal and external customers.
Optimize product throughput in production while balancing competing constraints.
Identify inefficient processes and find ways to improve them.
Influence employee behaviour to achieve desired outcomes.
Oversee the entire manufacturing process in the production department.
Ensure maintenance of all key equipment and machinery in production.
Develop and monitor production strategies to boost productivity.
Maintain adequate stock levels of finished products to meet demand.
Keep ERP system records up to date.
Manage overtime.
Facilitate employee training to ensure staff are skilled and capable of high‑quality work.
Liaise with the accounts team to ensure customer accounts are current before starting work.
Identify resource needs to support the growth of the business.
Implement occupational health and safety requirements.
Direct staff activities and monitor their performance.
Your Skills and Experience Significant experience in complex manufacturing processes.
Demonstrated ability in applying commercial acumen in solving production and/or systems issues.
Understanding of drivers of quality assurance and proven ability to manage to quality assurance guideline.
Strong work ethics through high standards of personal and professional behaviour.
Demonstrated communication skills, technical maturity and flexibility to adjust to change.
Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
Ability to manage staff.
