Conservation Officer Role
The Parks and Conservation Service (PCS) manages the ACT's protected area network, including national parks, nature reserves, water catchments, commercial softwood forests, and rural lands.
This role involves general maintenance and construction duties, as well as dedicated projects such as signage, walking tracks, camping areas, or heritage programs.
* Prior to commencing this role, registration under the Working with Vulnerable People Act 2011 is required.
* A manual Australian driver's license and eligibility for permanent residency in Australia are also necessary.
* Working a shift roster, weekends, public holidays, or evening shifts may be required.
Responsibilities:
* Undertake general maintenance and construction duties
* Manage dedicated projects such as signage, walking tracks, camping areas, or heritage programs
* Use chemicals for pest plant and animal management
Eligibility/Other Requirements:
* Registration under the Working with Vulnerable People Act 2011
* A manual Australian driver's license
* Eligibility for permanent residency in Australia
* Ability to work a shift roster, weekends, public holidays, or evening shifts
Desirable Qualifications:
* Progress towards or completion of a relevant tertiary qualification
* A current Advanced First Aid Certificate or capacity to obtain one
