Safety Specialist Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Safety Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about ensuring the health and safety of employees, customers, and the community.
About the Role
This role will be based in Laverton, providing hands-on support to our project teams across Western and Melbourne metropolitan regions. Key responsibilities include:
* Developing, implementing, reviewing, and maintaining safety-related plans and procedures to ensure compliance with legislation and best practice standards;
* Conducting safety assessments, audits, and inspections to identify opportunities for improvement;
* Driving a culture focused on safety, environment, and quality;
* Reporting incidents, non-conformances, and near misses, and coordinating/participating in investigations as required;
* Assisting with return-to-work processes and building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* At least 3 years' experience working in a similar role in the construction industry;
* Tertiary qualifications in WHS, with Cert IV completion or similar preferred;
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively and execute outcomes independently;
* Knowledge of safety legislation and statutes, and the ability to interpret any applicable statutes or legislation relevant to the work group or project;
