Job Description
Bunbury Drive In Chemist is a community pharmacy that supports pharmacists in the daily operation by assisting with prescription processing, dispensing support, Webster packing, stock control, customer service, and other administrative duties. The role involves handling standard prescriptions and medication packing services while ensuring accuracy, efficiency and compliance with pharmacy procedures and Australian pharmacy regulations.
Responsibilities
* Process standard prescriptions accurately using pharmacy dispensing software, enter and maintain patient and prescription records, and prepare prescription labels.
* Assist with managing owing and deferred prescriptions, liaise with patients, doctors, clinics and aged care facilities about prescription requirements, and assist with PBS claims.
* Prepare Webster packs and dose administration aids, coordinate medication changes, maintain Webster packing schedules, and perform packing accuracy checks.
* Provide professional and courteous assistance to patients and carers, respond to front‐counter and telephone enquiries, and coordinate prescription collection and delivery.
* Order, maintain, and reconcile pharmacy stock levels, monitor stock rotation and expiry dates, and manage shortages and backorders.
* Maintain accurate patient and prescription records, support pharmacy administration and reporting duties, and ensure compliance with pharmacy procedures, medication safety standards and workplace policies.
* Work collaboratively with pharmacists and staff, support efficient daily workflow, assist with training junior staff, and maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience working in a community pharmacy environment; knowledge of pharmacy dispensing systems and medication management procedures.
* Experience with Webster packing and dose administration aids preferred.
* Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, ability to multitask in a fast‐paced environment, and strong communication and customer service skills.
* Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
* Certificate III or IV in Community Pharmacy (preferred); previous pharmacy technician or dispensary experience preferred.
* Understanding of Australian pharmacy procedures and medication safety standards.
