About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Structural Drafter who brings a balance of high‐level technical expertise and a natural ability to guide others. You will lead the delivery of structural documentation across a diverse portfolio—including complex commercial builds, large‐scale industrial structures, and major institutional projects such as hospitals and schools. Crucially, you will act as a technical pillar for the Newcastle office, driving quality standards and helping shape the next generation of drafting talent.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare highly accurate structural plans, details, and documentation using Revit and AutoCAD, ensuring seamless project delivery against tight deadlines.
* Manage Revit template updates, maintain standard details, and handle advanced Revit family creation.
* Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior and apprentice draftspersons within the team.
* Work independently and seamlessly within a larger multi‐disciplinary drafting team, and occasionally liaise with clients and site stakeholders to ensure design intent is met.
Skills & Experience Required
* Solid experience operating at a Senior Draftsperson level within a structural engineering consultancy environment.
* Advanced proficiency in Revit and strong AutoCAD skills. Familiarity with the Autodesk Construction Cloud and Aconex is highly regarded.
* Demonstrated experience documenting buildings across diverse sectors—ideally a mix of large commercial, industrial sheds, precast concrete, and complex institutional projects (hospitals and education).
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively mentor junior staff and collaborate across engineering disciplines.
