About The Role
As a Small Business Specialist based in Townsville, you will play a key role in supporting regional and agribusiness customers, partnering closely with Business Development Managers and internal stakeholders to drive growth, strengthen client relationships, and deliver high-quality credit outcomes. Working across the end-to-end lending process, you will analyse financial information, prepare credit submissions, and coordinate settlements to ensure applications progress smoothly and efficiently.
You will be a trusted support to both customers and front-line bankers, helping to identify opportunities, structure lending solutions, and ensure a consistently high standard of service. Success in this role comes from your ability to balance credit quality, customer experience, and commercial outcomes while contributing to portfolio growth, retention, and compliance. This role offers strong exposure to regional business segments, including agribusiness, and the opportunity to build meaningful relationships within the local community.
About You
You bring prior experience in banking or lending and are confident working with commercial or small business clients, ideally with exposure to regional or agribusiness segments. You are comfortable analysing financial statements and translating insights into clear, well-considered credit recommendations, while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy and risk awareness.
Your strength lies in building relationships and delivering a high-quality customer experience, supported by clear communication and a proactive approach to problem solving. You work well both independently and as part of a broader team, managing competing priorities with strong organisation and attention to detail. With a solid understanding of lending principles and a genuine interest in helping regional businesses thrive, you take ownership, demonstrate sound judgement, and consistently contribute to positive outcomes for customers and the business.
