This is a permanent part-time (0.8FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2026
Instrumental Music School Services (IMSS) partners with public schools across Western Australia to enrich students' musical education through practical music making. This service provides a holistic teaching and learning program in instrumental and vocal music to students from over 500 schools.
Students develop musical skills through a structured curriculum and pedagogical approach that supports individual growth and group collaboration. The program delivers high-quality teaching and learning opportunities across the following Learning Areas: Brass, Classical Guitar, Contemporary Guitar & Bass, Percussion, Strings, Voice and Woodwind. Students develop creativity, expression, musical literacy and technical proficiency through their weekly lessons and via a range of context appropriate ensemble opportunities.
The Role
IMSS vision is to provide a rich environment where students have opportunities and pathways for inspiration, success in music and personal excellence. The events coordinator role is closely aligned to the mission statement which includes providing diverse and stimulating performance and extension opportunities.
The successful applicant will ideally have excellent interpersonal skills, knowledge and experience, as well as administrative experience in a high‐pressure environment. High level Information Technology skills such as working with excel, spreadsheets, office 365 and other functions are desirable for this position. The Program Coordinator, Festivals and Showcase should also have experience in performing in and directing instrumental ensembles and capacity to engage with the IMSS Whole School Teaching and learning plan.
Primary functions of the IMSS Events Coordinator position may be:
* To participate in the decision‐making processes of IMSS, and to actively promote the educational policies and strategies of the Department of Education and IMSS to instrumental music teachers, school‐based administrators, staff and the general community.
* To provide educational leadership and support for all stakeholders in the Events space.
* To manage and produce all major IMSS Events for the school.
* To assist in the management of the IMSS website.
The successful applicant should be willing to work out of hours at events including weekends and evenings and be available 'on‐call' as they occur.

Eligibility
To work with us, you must:
* be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
* hold registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia.
* obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
* consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
