About the role
The Technical Services Manager is responsible for leading and managing the delivery of technical service operations across HV/LV electrical systems, hire assets, and field-based maintenance activities, ensuring safe, compliant, efficient, and commercially viable service delivery while driving technician performance and supporting business growth.
Key responsibilities include:
* Oversee technical service activities (maintenance, breakdowns, commissioning, installations).
* Plan/schedule technicians, subcontractors, and resources to meet SLAs/deadlines.
* Maintain workflow control from job initiation to close-out.
* Provide technical guidance, fault finding, and diagnostics across HV/LV systems and hire equipment.
* Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, electrical regulations, and company procedures.
* Lead, mentor, and develop technicians/apprentices through performance reviews, training, and competency plans.
* Manage workforce planning, utilization, productivity, and technician development.
* Act as key client contact, provide technical solutions, and identify revenue opportunities.
* Manage job costing, profitability, quoting, tendering, pricing, and financial performance.
* Drive WHS compliance, safety initiatives, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
* Maintain service records, asset registers, compliance documentation, and support ISO audits.
* Oversee service systems, workflows, reporting tools, and preventative maintenance programs (PPM).

What you'll bring
* Demonstrated experience in service delivery or maintenance operations.
* Commercial acumen (job costing, margins, budgeting).
* Knowledge of WHS and compliance requirements including Australian standards.
* Well-developed management skills such as planning, organising, and evaluation.
* Understanding and interpreting relevant Standards and Codes of Practice.
* 7â12 years' experience in the trade.
* Contract training (GC21/AS4000).
* OH&S training.
