Bush Fire Brigade volunteers play a significant role in helping to keep their local communities safe. Members are trained and equipped to respond to bushfire incidents, support prevention initiatives and work alongside other emergency services when required. As a volunteer firefighter, you'll receive hands‐on training, develop valuable skills and contribute directly to community safety. Our brigade is an inclusive, supportive team that takes pride in serving the community – when you join, you become part of a strong network both on and off the fireground. Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to bushfire prevention, preparedness and response activities
* Support the brigade in operational and non-operational duties
* Maintain a strong focus on safety and teamwork
* Represent the brigade professionally within the community
Key Tasks
* Respond to bush and scrub fire incidents when available
* Undertake local fire prevention activities and hazard reduction support
* Assist with community education and engagement initiatives
* Regularly attend brigade meetings and training sessions
* Inspect and maintain brigade equipment and facilities
* Support other emergency service agencies as required

Time Required
Availability of a minimum 2 hours training a month. Held on alternating training weeks of Friday and Sunday. Availability to attend the monthly brigade meeting. Willingness to participate in community engagement, i.e. school visits, community shows and events. Attend emergency call outs when available.
Training
Basic training courses are required before attending incidents. Regular attendance at training and skill development is an ongoing requirement for this role, with all training provided at no cost to you.
