Focus Minerals Geology team is rapidly expanding, and this role is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate geologist to gain experience and skills within the WA gold sector. The skills you will develop are integral to understanding mine geology.The role is based in Coolgardie WA, an iconic mining town with a new accommodation village being built within the Coolgardie township. The FIFO roster is primarily an 8/6 dayshift rotation from Perth, with potential opportunities to undertake nightshift and supervise ore extraction.The key responsibilities of the role will include but are not limited to:Daily production requirements, such as ore spotting and geological data collectionExposure to ore stockpile managementMapping pit walls and geological logging of RCGC samplesSupervision of drilling programs and liaising with mining contractorsInstallation and pickup for the “BMT” BVI processReport writing and presentation, generation of maps and plans, collate and present our dataUtilise site QA/QC systems and document dataExposure to drill design, geological interpretation, block models and estimationsExposure and opportunity to learn mining software, such as Vulcan, acQuire and LeapfrogAssist in all areas of Open Pit production, mining and surveyingSkills and ExperienceTertiary qualification in GeologyIntermediate to advanced level MS Office SuiteValid WA C class manual driver's licenseNational Police Clearance requiredIn addition, you will demonstrate a personal style that values teamwork and collaboration and be an effective communicator at all levels.
