About the Role
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join our Rolling Stock Maintenance Plant Maintenance team. This position is suited to a highly motivated individual who enjoys working within an inclusive and diverse team environment while supporting the maintenance and reliability of critical workshop infrastructure and automated production systems. This is an exciting opportunity to work across advanced workshop facilities featuring CNC machinery, automated processing equipment, robotics, and modern control systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Carrying out preventative maintenance servicing and repairs on fixed workshop equipment
* Conducting inspections, diagnostics, and fault‐finding in line with procedures and Australian Standards
* Maintaining and repairing CNC machines and automated processing equipment
* Supporting workshop reliability, equipment performance, and operational efficiency
* Assisting with shutdowns, breakdowns, and continuous improvement initiatives
* Working collaboratively with maintenance and production teams
* Maintaining a strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
About You
* Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter / Engineering Technician
* Experience within plant maintenance, workshop maintenance, or industrial environments
* Strong fault‐finding and troubleshooting capabilities
* Exposure to CNC machinery, automation systems, robotics, or process control equipment highly regarded
* Mechanically minded with a proactive and hands‐on approach
* Ability to work effectively within a team environment
* Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
