Junior SharePoint Administrator – Federal Government

About the Role
We're seeking a Junior SharePoint Administrator to support the Department's SharePoint Online (SPO) environment and contribute to the improvement of its Digital Workspaces platform.
This position is ideal for an early-career SharePoint or Microsoft 365 professional who enjoys hands-on administration, process compliance, and continuous improvement. You'll work closely with the existing SharePoint Administrator and Digital Workspaces team, providing operational support, managing permissions, and ensuring the department's SharePoint environment remains secure, compliant, and user-friendly.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage and resolve SharePoint Online (SPO) incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs.
• Maintain permissions and access controls across sites, libraries, and lists.
• Configure and manage SharePoint Online sites in line with Treasury's information architecture standards.
• Support compliance and remediation activities, including audits and configuration reviews.
• Assist with continuous improvement projects such as hub site configuration, global navigation and template rollout.
• Contribute to the creation of standard operating procedures (SOPs), knowledge articles, and user guidance.
• Participate in team stand-ups, backlog reviews, and planning sessions.

Essential Criteria
• Demonstrated experience in SharePoint Online administration, including permissions management, site configuration, and global term store management.
• Familiarity with the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including Teams, OneDrive, and Power Platform.
• Understanding of governance, compliance, and information architecture principles.
• Strong problem-solving ability and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with business users and technical teams.

• Experience creating and maintaining scripts or small automation programs, ideally using PowerShell (PnP module).
• Understanding of ITSM tools and ticketing systems.
• Demonstrated application of engineering standards and best practices.
• Ability to obtain or currently hold NV1 security clearance
