Job DescriptionWe currently have an opportunity for an Operations Manager. Join our Health and Education team and play a key role in ensuring the efficient delivery of essential maintenance services and lifecycle planning, directly supporting the safety, functionality, and long-term sustainability of the facility. Reporting to the Contract Manager, you'll help deliver high-quality outcomes that support our essential services.What You’ll DoThis role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:Oversee the operational and financial performance of core service areas including mechanical, building, electrical, grounds and gardens, and asset lifecycle maintenance.Ensure all maintenance and service delivery aligns with contract requirements, legislative compliance, and internal policies and procedures.Manage and coordinate asset lifecycle planning, including the delivery of minor works, modifications, and long-term maintenance strategies.Lead the efficient execution of technical services across multiple disciplines such as HVAC, fire systems, power systems, infrastructure, and pest control.Deliver high-quality, timely outcomes to clients and facility users while maintaining a focus on safety, compliance, and service excellence.What You’ll BringTertiary qualification in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and/or Mechanical Maintenance management or equivalent.Significant experience in a similar role in the building/services industry at a managerial level.Proven leadership and management of a multi-skilled workforce.Experience in analysing improvement opportunities and developing sound, commercially based business cases.Strong verbal and written communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.More than anything, you’ll bring a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for our clients.Why Downer?At Downer, we plan, create, and sustain essential public services across Australia and New Zealand.
