Role description:
Our Design and Engineering (Urban Development) division is looking for a skilled and experienced Senior or Civil Engineers to either focus on design or specialise in construction phase site inspections and Contract Administration. In the Contracts Admin role, you will ensure the successful execution and compliance of civil engineering land development projects during construction, working closely with contractors, clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary teams to maintain quality and contractual standards. The Design role will see you working with a multidisciplinary team in the design and delivery of major urban development projects.
Role accountabilities:
* Conduct regular site inspections during the construction phase to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with design specifications and contract requirements.
* For the design focused engineer roles, contribute to design delivery from feasibility studies and concept design to detailed design and construction.
* Administer and manage contract obligations, variations, and claims to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
* Coordinate and liaise with contractors, subcontractors, clients, and stakeholders to resolve technical and contractual issues.
* Prepare and review site reports, inspection records, and progress documentation.
* Collaborate with design teams to address construction queries and implement design changes as required.
* Assist in managing project budgets, schedules, and quality assurance during construction.
* Build and maintain strong professional relationships within the industry and with regulatory authorities.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (RPEQ qualification desirable).
* Experience in construction phase site inspections and contract administration or design phases of civil engineering or land development projects.
* Strong knowledge of construction contracts, project management principles, and regulatory requirements.
* Excellent report writing and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while coordinating with contractors and clients.
* Experience working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to ensure design integrity during construction.
* Competence in presenting technical information clearly to clients, contractors, and senior management.
