Fixed‐Term Full‐Time Appointment
This role is a Fixed‐Term Full‐Time appointment at 76 hours per fortnight, with the possibility of extension covering a period of parental leave. Part‐time (job‐share arrangement) can be considered*
Location
Geraldton, Western Australia, located about 420 km north of Perth on the Coral Coast. The city offers a relaxed coastal community with modern amenities and a vibrant arts and café culture.
Responsibilities
Develop innovative recruitment strategies and implement those endorsed through the Regional Executive Committee. Facilitate and lead the development and implementation of new workforce models across the region, such as Nurse Practitioner, and provide high‐level support for recruitment, selection and allocation of nursing staff throughout WACHS – Midwest.
Qualifications
* Eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
* Demonstrated understanding of nursing recruitment and retention programmes and nursing workforce requirements.
* Knowledge of industrial relations and nursing recruitment process requirements in the public sector.
* High level of communication skills, including written reports, negotiation, facilitation and problem‐solving skills.
* Sound understanding of current issues in the public sector health system, including rural service issues.
* Current knowledge of legislative obligations for Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and Occupational Safety and Health, and how these impact on employment and service delivery.
* Eligible for or in possession of a current Class C or C‐A driving licence or another specialised licence class.
* High‐level computer skills, including database management.
