About the Role
This is a key leadership position in our research department, responsible for advancing our knowledge of the ecosystem drivers of harmful algal blooms in South Australian waters. The successful candidate will lead research projects that integrate field observations, laboratory analysis, and modelling approaches to identify conditions that trigger, sustain, or mitigate Algal Bloom events.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct and lead research to improve understanding of the ecosystem drivers of harmful algal blooms.
* Develop and implement innovative approaches to identify and mitigate the effects of Algal Bloom events.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need a strong background in physical, biological, or biogeochemical oceanography or a related discipline. A PhD with a focus on integrating oceanographic modelling and field observations to understand plankton ecology is highly desirable.
Work Environment
You will work closely with our policy development team to contribute to whole-of-agency working groups developing policy responses to emerging issues.
