Job Description
Aurora Dairies is currently seeking a Farm Manager for a dairy farm in Denison, located between Traralgon and Sale in the Gippsland region of Victoria.
The farm is approximately 150 ha in total with 60 ha under centre pivot irrigation and 90 ha under flood irrigation. Currently milking 800 cows through a 50-bail rotary shed with ACRs, auto teat spray and concrete feed pad, and is predominantly pasture-based with grain fed in the dairy.

Responsibilities
1. Create an environment where people can develop to help achieve desired outcomes as a team player.
2. Implement our Safety Management System to ensure safe operations across the property.
3. Manage and direct staff to achieve positive outcomes.
4. Ensure the highest standards of animal health and welfare by exhibiting sound and accurate judgement.
5. Report on farm plans and inventory.
6. Estimate quality and availability of pastures through paddock inspection.
7. Implement stock rotations and contribute to plans for future feed budgets.
8. Feed management to support achievement of budgeted production targets.
9. Maintain accurate stock, treatment, and feeding records.
10. Operate and maintain plant and equipment.
11. Coordinate contractors for required fertiliser, hay/silage making activities.
12. Implement sustainable farming practices.
13. Adhere to company policies and safe work procedures.
Requirements
* Previous experience as a Dairy Farm Manager in a large-scale livestock operation.
* People management skills.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and direct peers and work as a valuable team member.
* Reporting and computer skills.
* Demonstrated ability to follow and implement budgeted outcomes to optimise profitability.
* Demonstrated experience in the management and handling of livestock.
* Pasture based farming experience.
* Initiative to complete operational tasks that contribute to the team.
* Ability to support and implement safe work procedures.
* Willingness to learn new systems of work.
