About This Role
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Practice Leader. In this role, you will be responsible for utilising your leadership expertise to provide support and advice to adoption services.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a high-performing and passionate team within the Victorian Public Service. You will be part of CYF4: $107,680 - $118,816 plus superannuation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and manage casework and day-to-day delivery of services to clients, including professional supervision of staff engaged in providing statutory adoption services.
* Assist in developing, coordinating, running, and evaluating adoption information and education programs, including specialised training for workers and other agencies/organisations about adoption.
* Plan, develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate case plans and short and long-term intervention strategies for clients; review assessments and recommendations made by others.
Requirements:
* Knowledge and expertise relevant to the area of adoption, including understanding of the history of adoption and experience undertaking complex casework and assessments.
* Experience dealing with associated issues relating to the placement of children in alternative home care and associated legislation including the Adoption Act 1984.
* Experience in effectively utilising theory, knowledge, and informed judgement in the application of a range of assessment, evaluation and intervention techniques and strategies that would be applicable to adoption.
Qualifications/Requirements:
* A recognised Social Work degree or a similar welfare or behavioural related degree which includes a primary focus on child development, human behaviour, family dynamics and/or impacts of trauma, and preferably a practical component such as counselling or case work practice.
