Overview
In this Electrical Tradesperson position, you'll play a key role in maintaining and repairing locomotives, rail cars, wagons, plant, and infrastructure to keep them safe, reliable, and ready for service. Your work will directly support the efficient operation of freight services.
Responsibilities
* Perform routine and corrective maintenance and fault repairs using best practices.
* Adhere to Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) regulations and technical specifications.
* Keep accurate records and documentation of asset conditions, maintenance activities, and costs.
* Report completed work against the scheduled program.
* Contribute to the development and enhancement of work procedures for continuous quality improvement.
Qualifications
* Holds a mandatory Electrical Trade qualification or equivalent.
* Proficient in computer use.
* Strong commitment to safe working practices.
* Possesses strong interpersonal communication skills.
* Experience in repairing and maintaining locomotives and rolling stock is highly valued.
* Demonstrates robust fault‐finding and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings.
* Knowledgeable in relevant legislation, including the Workplace Health and Safety Act.
* Experience with locomotives and wagons is a plus, but training will be provided.
