Senior Security Engineer
Location: Either Melbourne or Canberra based. Predominantly onsite role.
NV2 clearance required (TSPV uplift supported) and OSA required or willing to obtain it. Must be an Australian Citizen holding an active NV2 and willing to uplift to TSPV.
Responsibilities
* Operate independently within scope while collaborating with engineering teams.
* Design, deliver, and uplift security engineering and operations functions across the environment.
* SIEM / SOAR platform management (e.g., Splunk) including onboarding, health checks, patching, maintenance, and incident resolution.
* Security engineering across endpoint, network, gateway and related technologies.
* Vulnerability management tooling, integration and continuous improvement.
* Support incident response activities using enterprise tooling.
* Manage data ingestion, build and optimize search queries, develop custom dashboards and alerts for monitoring, and ensure system reliability, security, and scalability across the enterprise.
* Provide trusted security engineering advice to internal stakeholders.
* Develop and uplift security operations system requirements.
* Participate in change review and approvals.
* Build and maintain stakeholder relationships across internal teams and external partners.
Qualifications
* Experience in Security Engineering or Security Operations with a strong hands‐on focus.
* Hands‐on experience with EDR / Device Control / Application Control (e.g., Trellix, Carbon Black).
* Experience with SIEM / SOAR platforms (e.g., Splunk).
* Experience with vulnerability management solutions.
* Experience with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
* Experience with Identity & Access Management (IAM).
* Experience with Privileged Access Management (e.g., CyberArk, BeyondTrust).
* Experience with Hardware Security Modules (HSM).
* Strong engineering mindset and problem‐solving approach.
* Ability to operate independently and collaboratively.
* Passion for cyber security and continuous improvement.
* Motivation to support capability uplift and mentor junior team members.
