KWY is an award-winning Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation delivering culturally grounded programmes that support Aboriginal people, families and communities to create positive, lasting change. Since 2011, KWY has worked to break the cycle of domestic and family violence, strengthen family wellbeing, and reduce the overrepresentation of Aboriginal children in the child protection system. Our services span family support, youth work, men’s behaviour change, kinship care, reunification, social and emotional wellbeing, research, and workforce development.


About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager (Business Development) to join our Development and Innovation team in Adelaide. Reporting to the Executive Manager, you will leada team responsible for driving sustainable and efficient operations, fostering a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement. You will identify and pursue business development opportunities, including grants, tenders, bids, and formal partnerships, while providing strategic leadership, technical advice, and ensuring the highest standards of service provision across KWY.

This role requires a dynamic leader with experience in research, strategy development, analysis, service modelling, implementation and monitoring and evaluation. You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement effective strategies and solutions that contribute to KWY’s growth and impact.

12 months contract. (Full time or Part Time)


Key Responsibilities

* Lead and supervise a multidisciplinary team, providing guidance, support, and professional development.
* Identify and pursue business development opportunities, including grants, tenders, and partnerships.
* Conduct research and analysis to inform strategy, service modelling, and organisational improvement.
* Oversee project management, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
* Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance and quality assurance.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external.
* Ensure effective communication, reporting, and documentation in line with KWY standards.
* Contribute to a positive, culturally safe, and inclusive organisational culture.


About you

You will bring relevant qualifications and substantial experience in business management, project management, social science, or a related field, with at least five years in program or project management roles. Your background will demonstrate a strong understanding of business and organisational development, including research, analysis, strategy and policy development, service modelling, and tender writing. You are a proven leader, skilled in managing cross-functional teams, motivating staff, and delegating tasks effectively. Your communication skills, both written and verbal are excellent, enabling you to engage confidently with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

You are highly analytical, able to identify problems, develop effective strategies, and monitor progress to achieve project objectives. Your planning and organisational skills allow you to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise tasks, and consistently meet deadlines. Importantly, you have demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities, and a sound understanding of trauma-informed practice. You are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, and you have strong skills in data analysis and information systems. A current South Australian driver’s licence is required, along with a willingness to obtain and maintain all relevant probity checks and training.

Job requirements

* You must hold a current South Australian Driver's License or a licence which permits you to drive in South Australia.
* Successful candidates will be required to clear and maintain probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check (Police Clearance) and Working with Children Check (applicants need to hold a current WWCC to apply).
