**About the role**
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Billing Assistant to join our Cyber practice. This role is focused on the proactive coordination of billing related activities. Working in close collaboration with Partners and the entire team, success in the role will look like streamlining existing billing processes, fulfilling the role of key point of contact on all billing related issues, and helping to ensure the highest quality service is delivered to our clients.

**Key responsibilities**
In this role, you will have responsibility for the coordination and completion of the processes relating to monthly billing within our Cyber Insurance practice area. You will work closely with the Partners, Lawyers and Legal Secretaries to maintain and improve upon processes, ensuring a consistently high standard is met for our clients. Duties will include:
End of Month Billing Administration
- Preparation & distribution of WIP reports
- Generating billing guides and Disbursement Only invoices
- Editing and finalising bills, including rate and Payor verifications
- Reviewing engagement letters to ensure that bills conform with client billing requirements
- Summarising billing information in client Service Level Agreement's, and
- Distributing finalised bills to the practice, ensuring all invoices are sent to the clients.
E-Billing Administration
- Assisting with the set up and maintenance of client e-billing platforms
- Uploading bills to e-billing platforms, attending to e-billing challenges and preparing final tax documents.
Operational Billing/Finance tasks
- Troubleshooting billing issues and escalating to Finance where appropriate
- Ensuring that billing procedures are being followed and assisting with the development, improvement and implementation of billing procedures
- Assisting with providing training to fee earners, secretaries and new team members on the billing process
- Client reporting - distributing and populating client reports on monthly and quarterly basis
- Assisting with debt collecting, escalating to the Partner when necessary
- Partners monthly expenses
- Assisting in running conflict checks when necessary
- Attending to file closures
- Attending to Trust enquires
- Dealing with overpayments from clients
- All other financial related duties to support the Partners, Fee Earners and other legal secretaries.
**Key skills and experience**
- Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a similar role
- Highly numerate & analytical with excellent attention to detail
- Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an international organisation
- Time management with ability to meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities
- A positive approach and attitude, with high levels of initiative and enthusiasm
- Ability to challenge the status quo with a continuous improvement mind-set
- Previous experience in a law firm or a professional services environment would be advantageous
- A knowledge of Thomson Reuters Elite 3E would be advantageous but not essential.
