Occupational Therapist
Responsibilities:
* Undertake a comprehensive range of intervention programs for clients with vision impairment, including prescription of equipment as necessary.
* Collaborate with the client, family and colleagues to develop appropriate goals based on the client's needs.
* Maintain accurate documentation and prepare reports and correspondence as required.
* Prepare and present information sessions on occupational therapy intervention programs in the context of vision impairment to other agencies, professional and community groups, families and individuals.
* In collaboration with team members and other relevant staff, identify and target networking opportunities that will increase referrals for our services in the region.
* Travel in metropolitan and regional areas for long distances and extended periods of time.
* Occasionally stay overnight in accommodation when visiting clients in rural or remote areas; some rural locations may require travel by plane (accommodation and air travel are adequately funded).
Qualifications – Essential
* Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy.
* Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with AHPRA.
* A thorough understanding of client-centred practice.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and modern technology such as mobile phone apps.
* Confirmation of a 'Working With Children Check' and/or 'Working with Vulnerable People Check' (or willingness to complete).
* Hold a current class C driver licence.
Qualifications – Desired
* Experience delivering occupational therapy intervention programs.
* Experience or qualifications relating to occupational therapy in the context of vision impairment.
