Job Title: Director of Financial Strategy
About the Role:
The Diocese of Wagga Wagga is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Financial Strategy to provide strategic and operational leadership across finance, governance, information technology and capital works.
Key Responsibilities:
* Partner with the Executive Director and Executive Leadership Team to deliver financial, governance, technology and infrastructure strategies aligned with the Diocese's mission.
* Lead and mentor teams across Finance, Governance, IT and Capital Works to achieve collaborative, high-performing outcomes.
* Support the Executive Director in meeting financial reporting obligations to diocesan governance bodies.
* Oversee budgeting, financial planning and reporting, ensuring transparent, responsible and sustainable management of resources.
* Provide leadership in risk management, governance, compliance and audit, maintaining integrity and accountability in all operations.
* Direct the development and delivery of capital works and facilities plans that create contemporary, safe and inspiring learning environments.
* Champion digital transformation through a robust, secure and future-focused IT strategy.
* Represent the Diocese in external forums, government consultations and education networks across NSW.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce or Accounting (postgraduate qualifications desirable).
* CA, CPA or equivalent professional accreditation.
* At least 7–10 years' senior finance or executive leadership experience across complex organisations.
* Demonstrated expertise in financial management, governance, technology and resource stewardship.
* Proven ability to mentor teams, build trusted relationships and lead with integrity.
