HEAD OF WHOLESALE SALES – Rustica Sourdough

Melbourne-based (covering Greater Melbourne & regional Victoria)

With five flagship bakery-cafés and a thriving wholesale division supplying hundreds of Victoria’s best cafés, restaurants, hotels, and retailers, we are one of the most respected and fastest-growing bakery brands in the state.

The Opportunity

We are expanding our wholesale team and are looking for a proven gun salesperson who lives and breathes B2B foodservice/hospitality sales. This is a high-impact role with direct influence on the growth of our wholesale division.

Responsibilities

- Hunting recent business and winning major accounts (cafés, restaurants, hotels, provenances, independent grocers, catering companies)
- Growing and protecting existing key accounts
- Consistently hitting and exceeding ambitious monthly and quarterly revenue targets
- Representing Rustica at events, product tastings, and chef/restaurant openings
- Monitoring competitor activity and identifying new opportunities in the market
- Preparing professional proposals, tenders, and tailored account-growth plans
- Managing your pipeline, activities, and customer insights in our CRM (we use HubSpot)
- Collaborating closely with production, logistics, and marketing teams to deliver seamless customer experiences
- Providing regular sales forecasts and reports to senior management

What you bring

- 3–7+ years B2B sales experience with a demonstrable track record of smashing targets
- Existing network within Melbourne/Victoria’s hospitality and foodservice industry (highly regarded)
- Proven success selling premium bakery, pastry, or artisan food products (strongly preferred)
- Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and relationship‑building skills
- Analytical mindset – you can spot trends, read accounts, and turn insights into revenue
- Highly organised, autonomous, and driven by results
- A genuine passion for artisan bread and pastry (you’ll be tasting and talking about it daily!)
- Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle (travel across Melbourne & regional Victoria required)
