Park Assist, part of the TKH Group, is one of Australia's genuine start-up success stories - a pioneering leader in the parking industry, specialising in camera-based parking guidance systems. Founded in Australia and now headquartered in Amsterdam, we are the world's leading innovator in intelligent parking solutions.
We're searching for an experienced, commercially minded Finance Manager to join our Sydney-based team. In this role, you'll take complete ownership of the finance, compliance, and operations functions for the Australian business, leading a small but experienced team (an Accountant and an Operations Coordinator) and reporting directly to the APAC GM.
As a member of our local leadership team, you'll work closely with the GM and Department Heads to shape commercial decisions and drive the business forward. You'll also be the key finance contact for our EU Group CFO, so confidence in managing upwards across cultures and navigating corporate reporting requirements is important.
As part of TKH Security (a global, EU-listed technology company), we benefit from strong IP, continuous product investment, and centralised group support, while retaining a high degree of autonomy to run the Australian operation as we see fit.
What you'll own
* End-to-end financial management for the APAC region, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and delivery of monthly reporting packages to the GM and EU Group Finance within agreed deadlines.
* Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including consolidated APAC and CSR reporting for the parent group.
* Australian tax and statutory compliance, including payroll tax, BAS, FBT, deferred tax, transfer pricing, and country-by-country reporting.
* Project accounting for bespoke project work, including milestone billing, progress claims, and revenue recognition.
* Management of the internal controls framework and compliance with Australian regulatory requirements.
* Oversight of payroll operations, AP, AR, treasury, sales commission calculations, inventory management, import operations, and 3PL warehouse coordination (with day-to-day operational management handled by the Operations Coordinator).
* Commercial partnering with the leadership team through scenario analysis, forecasting, and strategic financial insight.
To be successful, you'll need
* Proven experience in a Finance Manager or Financial Controller role within a mid-sized or larger organisation, with strong knowledge across accounting, management reporting, processes, controls, and compliance.
* Demonstrated experience partnering with senior management to provide commercial and financial guidance. You're comfortable in leadership discussions, not just reporting into them.
* Project-based finance experience is essential.
* Highly developed analytical skills with a commercial focus and pragmatic approach.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with prior experience leading a small team.
* Experience with an ERP and Power BI (Business Central a bonus).
* CPA or CA qualified.
* Any experience in the construction sector would be a bonus.
This role
would suit a senior finance professional ready to step into full ownership of a regional finance function. You might be a strong 2IC or Senior Accountant in a larger business looking to lead end-to-end, or an experienced Finance Manager who values autonomy, commercial variety, and the stability of a well-backed global business without the bureaucracy of a large corporation.
We value initiative, flexibility, good ideas, and great people. We're serious about what we do, work closely together and enjoy our work.
* You'll have the opportunity to work with a highly effective leadership team in a growing business, and have the ability to make a significant impact on the future of our business, team, clients and the market.
* We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and are committed to cultivating diversity in our teams.
* We recognise that the best ideas come from allowing the unique background, skills and personality of the individual to shine through.
* Hybrid work culture - Two days per week in office/ 3 days WFH.
